Art Basel Hong Kong today revealed the names of 240 galleries that will participate in its next iteration, taking place March 27–29 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The participants represent forty one countries and territories; more than half operate outposts in the Asia Pacific region, including twenty nine with spaces in Hong Kong. Thirty two galleries will make their debuts at the fair, bringing art from Australia, Japan, South Korea, the Greater China region, Turkey, France, Georgia, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, and the United States.
The fair will be divided into several sections. The main Galleries section will host booths showing contemporary and modern art, while Discoveries will feature new work created specifically for the fair by emerging artists; Insights will spotlight twentieth and twenty first-century works by artists from Asia and the Asia Pacific region. Devoted to large scale installations, sculptures, and performances, the Encounters section will be organized by a collective of curators: Mami Kataoka, Isabella Tam, Alia Swastika, and Hirokazu Tokuyama. The Echoes section, highlighting works created within the past five years in focused presentations by up to three artists, will make its debut.
The fair will also offer public programming, including the talks series Conversations, a full day of which will be curated by Venus Lau, director of the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Nusantara, Jakarta; the Film series, organized by pathbreaking media artist Ellen Pau; and Zero 10, a new curated initiative featuring digital art that will debut at Art Basel Miami Beach before being reprised here. In addition, Art Basel and the contemporary art museum M+ will co commission an artwork for the museum façade by Pakistani American artist Shahzia Sikander, which will go on view March 23, 2026.
